Whether you are about to work outside of the U.S., are planning a destination wedding in an exotic location, or looking to further your education in another country… you will need to apostille your passport.

An apostille is a uniformly recognized certification of authenticity that is accepted by countries that are members of the Hague Convention of 1961. For non-member countries, the passport must go through the legalization process through the Embassy or Consulate of the destination country.

We do not require your original passport; an Apostille can be issued to a color photocopy of a passport as long as the necessary steps have been taken.

What is needed to Apostille Passports?

Instead of sending us your original passport, a color copy of the identity should be sent with the following wording to be written at the bottom:

“I do hereby attest that this is a true and correct photocopy of my US Passport.”

{Signed and dated}

You can either have this statement notarized, or send it directly to us and we will notarize and apostille your passport for you.

If you have the copy of your passport notarized before sending it to us, please make sure you use a notary that is familiar this process; they must use the correct wording (some states require different acknowledgment statements), it must be signed and stamped, and it must include their registration number and expiration date.
